About

Kronik Records

Independent record label and recording studio. Founded in 1997. London, United Kingdom.

The Label

Kronik Records was founded in 1997 by Nicky Day. Originally one of the biggest UK Garage labels in London, the label released records that defined a generation of British underground music.

From the debut release Corrupted Cru — Tales From The Corrupt E.P. (KNK 001) through to Genius Cru's Boom Selection — which peaked at #12 on the UK Singles Chart and #1 on the UK Dance Chart in 2000 — Kronik Records was at the centre of the UK Garage movement.

The label's catalogue includes records by Scott Garcia ft. MC Styles, DJ Luck & Shy Cookie, Oxide & Neutrino, DJ Narrows, and more. Kronik continues to release music and press vinyl for collectors and physical music culture.

The Studio

Kronik Studios is a multi-purpose recording facility at 7 Lyon Road, White Lyon Court, London SW19 2RL. The studio operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Two studios are available — Studio A (preproduction with booth) and Studio B (professional recording room with booth). Services include recording, production, engineering, mixing, and mastering.

Philosophy

Kronik is built on physical music culture. Vinyl records, limited pressings, signed and numbered editions. The label has always existed at the intersection of underground music and collector culture.

From the UK Garage era of the late 1990s through to the present day, Kronik represents an unbroken line of independent British music. The next generation carries that forward.
